1. ELDORA MOUNTAIN RESORT

Located in Nederland, the Eldora resort is only a short 40-minute drive from Boulder. With plenty of opportunities for skiers of all ages and experiences, it’s a great place to visit for a fun day on the slopes.

Eldora Mountain Resort provides some of the lowest admission and rental fees across the entire state of Colorado without compromising the high quality of the resort. This makes it a smart choice for large groups and financially savvy skiers.

The resort offers 700 acres of skiable land several different terrain parks. Note that Eldora does not offer any overnight accommodations, so plan for a day-trip.

2. BRECKENRIDGE SKI RESORT

This is one of Colorado’s most beloved ski destinations. Though the trip from Boulder is only about an hour and a half, Breckenridge offers many opportunities for luxury lodging and fine dining if you’d like to extend your stay.

The most notable aspect of Breckenridge is the vast number of runs. With over 150 different ski trails
accommodating all levels of ability, the opportunities are endless. Experienced skiers looking for an extreme challenge will appreciate the arduous double black runs while casual skiers can enjoy leisurely green ones.

The resort encompasses 3,000 acres of skiable land, with 32 ski lifts and various terrain parks. The service and accommodations are top-of-the-line and keep people coming back year after year. A trip to Breckenridge promises a treasured experience of wintertime fun.

3. LOVELAND SKI AREA

If you’re looking for a more exclusive, private, and quiet skiing experience, Loveland Ski Area will be more your style. Known as Colorado’s Winter Wonderland, this low-key resort is a popular hotspot for skiers while remaining relatively uncrowded compared to other options.

This is a high-quality resort with lots to offer. Loveland is in a high elevation and gets massive amounts of snowfall, so the ski season here runs from October through May.

You can ski about 100 different runs of various intensities here, making it a great place to go with the whole family. The drive from Boulder to Loveland is just over an hour, which is perfect for day trips. There are also on-mountain cabins available for overnight stays, and many mountain restaurants offer amazing dining.
