Lafayette CO Lifts Directive To Boil Water

Friday’s “Boil Water Notice” for Indian Peaks Subdivision was lifted today at 5:30pm.  The city determined that the E Coli contaminated water had been eliminated.  Water is now considered safe to drink without boiling.

Yesterday the city was alerted by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment that a water sample tested positive for E Coli, around the area of 95th and Baseline.

The city flushed the infected areas with extra chlorine, to “disinfect and cleanse the lines.”

Lafayette will investigate the incident this coming week.
