Google broke ground on their new 330,000 sq ft campus Tuesday August 4th, 2015. Three four-story buildings will be built at 2930 S Pearl St., the south west corner of 30th and Pearl (across the street from Whole Foods, east of Target). Google expects phase one (two buildings) to be finished in 18 months.
Transportation opportunities greatly influenced site selection. Google provides employees with Eco-Passes, and 50% use alternatives to cars to commute to work. Their new campus will include 300 bike parking spots, a
bike maintenance shop, and 50 charging stations for electric cars, and a Boulder B-Cycle station.
The number of Boulder Google employees (who work on Google Apps, Google Earth, and Google Play) is expected to jump from 340 to 1500.
